Perfect Green Tea
Delicate, grassy green tea brewed at the perfect temperature — never bitter, always fresh. The art of a proper cup in five minutes.
Method
- 1
Heat the water
Heat water to 75–80°C. If you do not have a thermometer, bring water to a boil then let it cool for 2–3 minutes. Never use boiling water — it makes green tea bitter.
- 2
Warm the cup
Pour a little hot water into your cup, swirl, and discard. This keeps the tea hot longer.
- 3
Steep
Add the green tea leaves or bag to the cup. Pour the hot water over them. Steep for exactly 2–3 minutes — no longer or it will turn bitter.
- 4
Remove and serve
Remove the leaves or bag. Add honey, mint, or lemon if desired. Sip slowly and enjoy.
