Rich Chocolate Ice Cream
Deeply dark, intensely chocolatey no-churn ice cream made with Dutch-process cocoa and melted dark chocolate for double the richness.
Method
- 1
Melt the chocolate
Melt dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl over simmering water or in the microwave in 30-second bursts. Stir until smooth and let cool to room temperature.
- 2
Make the chocolate base
Whisk cocoa powder, condensed milk, vanilla, and salt together until smooth. Stir in the cooled melted chocolate.
- 3
Whip the cream
Whip the heavy cream to stiff peaks in a chilled bowl using a hand mixer.
- 4
Fold together
Fold the chocolate base into the whipped cream gently in three additions until fully combined and uniform in colour.
- 5
Freeze
Transfer to a freezer container, smooth the top, and press cling wrap onto the surface. Freeze for 6 hours minimum.
- 6
Serve
Scoop and serve with chocolate shavings or a warm fudge drizzle.
